William O. Steele Bibliography

William Owen Steele was born in Franklin, Tennessee in 1917. He graduated from Cumberland College in 1940 and served in the armed forces for five years. It was as a boy exploring the woods around his home that began his interest in the pioneers of Tennessee, of which most of his stories centered upon. His first book was published in 1951. He was married to Mary Quintard Govan Steele, who was an author in her own right. William O. Steele died in 1979 in Signal Mountain, Tennessee.
